Maryke S. Nuth (“Maryke”) brings nearly three decades of distinguished experience in law, technology, and governance, offering clients a unique blend of legal excellence and strategic insight. With a doctorate in IT law and a career spanning multiple jurisdictions, Maryke bridges complex legal frameworks with practical business solutions. Her international perspective, shaped by extensive work in Europe and Asia, enables her to navigate complex cross-border issues with precision and creativity. Her hands-on experience as a business leader and advisor to multinational organizations gives her a pragmatic approach that clients value when addressing operational and regulatory challenges.

 

She advises on complex, large-scale corporate and commercial transactions across Indonesia and Europe. Her expertise spans a wide range of practice areas, including but not limited to Information Communication Technology Law, IT-contracts, Intellectual Property, Corporate and Commercial Law, Mining Law, Data Protection and Privacy Law. She is also a registered Capital Market Legal Consultant as well as a licensed Intellectual Property Legal Consultant.

 

Maryke has served on national boards in both Europe and Asia, actively shaping policy and advising on emerging legal and technological issues. She has acted as special advisor to European law firms and governmental institutions, and currently sits on the leadership boards of several legal professional associations across Indonesia and the Asia-Pacific region.


She obtained her law degree from the Catholic University of Atma Jaya Jakarta. She holds a doctorate in IT law from University of Oslo and two master’s degrees respectively Master in Corporate and Commercial Law (University of New South Wales, Australia) and Master in Information and Communication Technology Law (University of Oslo, Norway).

 

She is closely associated with the Norwegian Research Center and Law at the University of Oslo where she lectures on ICT -law and related subjects. She is a published author of legal books in Europe and has contributed to numerous international publications. She is an active speaker at international conferences, and her scholarly work has earned her international awards.

  • Advising a Spanish company, in collaboration with Antonio Viñal & Co., a Madrid-based law firm, on the development of five ports in eastern Indonesia through the establishment of two consortiums for (i) the construction and management of five cruise terminals and (ii) the construction and management of five fishing ports.
  • Acting as co-advisor in the protection of intellectual property rights of PT Rekan Usaha Mikro Anda (RUMA).
  • Acting as co-advisor to EIK Engineering Sdn. Bhd., a Malaysia-based heavy machinery company, on its digital market presence following a successful trademark case.
  • Acting as co-advisor to Grab Indonesia in a case involving unauthorized use of its social media accounts.
